Obituary of J. Stanley Dickison
The death of J. Stanley Dickison of Hatfield Point occurred on Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Chatham Head, he was a son of the late Stanley and Edith (Galley) Dickison. Stanley served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1956-1977, and subsequently worked with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires and Industrial Security before his retirement. He was Anglican by faith, and was a member of the Corinthian Lodge # 13 F & AM, as well as the RAOB # 47. Stanley is survived by his loving companion, Rosemary Snow; a son, Gordon Dickison (Melanie) of Saint John; daughters Karen Dickison (Bruce) of Saint John, Donna Anderson (Jamie) of Windsor, Nova Scotia, and Debra Buckley (Bob) of Saint John; two brothers, Gordon of Saint John and Bob (Darlene) of Saint John; sisters Edith Verner, Marilyn Lavoie (Marcel), Jacqueline Verner (Frank), Mary Dickison, Lois Martin, and Barbara Dickison, all of Saint John; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Robert, Deborah, Hope, Chelsea, and Gabrielle; a good friend, Lester Spicer of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Stanley was predeceased by a son, Glenn; a brother, Albert; and a sister, Joan Dickison. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:30 PM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. A Masonic Service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
