Obituary of M. Cecilia McNulty
The death of Mary Cecilia (MacDonald) McNulty of Saint John, wife of the late David A. McNulty, occurred on Friday, November 14, 2008 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Dominion, Cape Breton on August 7, 1916 she is a daughter of the late Daniel and Christine (MacGillivary) MacDonald. Cecilia was very devoted to her Roman Catholic faith, was a member of St. Pius X Parish and the CWL. In her younger years she enjoyed playing softball. She loved music, nature and playing cards with her friends at Rocmaura. She is survived by four sons, Allan (Sharon) of Saint John, NB, Gregory (Mary Ellen) of Chatham, NB, Brian (Irene) of Toronto, ON, Joseph (Sue) of Saint John, NB; five daughters, Lois (Robert) Gauvin of Thunder Bay, ON, Mary McNulty of Victoria, BC, Janet (Brian) Johnston, Ann (James) McLeese and Theresa (Ronald) Watters all of Saint John; one sister, Rita MacDonald of Dartmouth, NS; thirty one grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two daughters-in-law, Leilani McNulty of Fairbanks, Alaska and Ann McNulty of Saint John, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by three sons, Barry, Patrick and infant son Michael; five brothers, James, Joseph, Leo, Gordon and Gregory; four sisters, Katie MacNabb, Edna Doucette, Rosella MacDonald and Margaret Morrison. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday and Monday, November 16 & 17, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from St. Pius X at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, Alzheimer Society or Divine Mercy Catholic School.
