Obituary of Clara M. Roy
The death of Clara M. Roy of Saint John, North, occurred after a brief illness at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 22, 2009. Born in Meteghan, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Laurence and Lena (LeBlanc) LeBlanc. Clara was the wife of the late Leo Roy (March 14, 2003). She spent the greater part of her life in Saint John, she was a member of St. Pius X Parish, she belonged to the CWL of Holy Trinity and the Quilting Club at St. Pius. She was a member of the Liberal Party. She was predeceased by one brother, Herbie LeBlanc of Ontario. Clara is survived by two daughters, Rosemarie Roy of Saint John and Roxanne Kasdan (Paul) of Saint John; one sister, Bertha Weir of Digby, NS; three grandchildren, Adrienne, Oliver and Yelena; & several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, 634-7424, with visiting on Saturday from 7-9 pm, and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church on Monday at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Following the interment a reception will be held at the St. Pius X Church Hall. Remembrances may be made to the Kidney Foundation of New Brunswick or the Canadian Cancer Society (Saint John) would be appreciated by the family.
