Obituary of Arthur Royden Watson
Watson Sr., Arthur Royden (May 11, 1944 - January 22, 2009) - of Saint John, NB, died suddenly at the saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 64. Born in Black’s Harbour, NB the son of the late Earl V. and Jessie (Shaw) Watson. In his early years, Art worked as a seaman on the boats, later he worked with developer Jerry Lowe doing maintenance on properties. He loved his family, loved to cook and was a friend to all who knew him. Art is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ruth (Lloyd); two sons: Arthur Jr. and Robert (Jane) both of Saint John; daughter Shelly Watson (Jeff) of Saint John; six brothers: Eric “Buddy” (Margaret), Murray (Phyllis), David, Douglas (Eloise), Paul (Kathy) and Keith (Penny); eight sisters: Shirley (Jim) Cameron, Pauline Russell, Mary Richardson, Jackie (Horace) Young, Carol (Russell) Surrette, Debbie Watson, Margo (Hall) McLean and Kelly (Danny) Fellows; six grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Art was predeceased by one brother, Maurice. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held form Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 1 pm. Interment will take place in Pennfield Rural Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances to Heart & Stroke Foundation of NB or the charity of the donor’s choice.
