Obituary of Ronald Alonzo Belyea
The death of Ronald “Ron” Alonzo Belyea Jr. of Saint John, NB, husband of the late Joyce (Mollins) Belyea, occurred on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 19, 1926, he was the son of the late Ronald A. and Annie G. (Wilcox) Belyea. He was a life long resident of Saint John and was educated in local schools and graduated from the former Saint John Vocational School. Ron had been employed for many years with British-American Oil Company and retired from Gulf Oil. He was a member of St. George's Anglican Church, Saint John West. He enjoyed sailing, ice skating, traveling and his summer home at Waters Landing. He is survived by four sons, R. Gordon (Ann) of Ottawa, ON, Thomas H.(Elaine McLaughlan)of Belleisle Creek, NB, Robert J. (Didi) of Havelock, NB and Scott A. (Judy) of Saint John; one daughter, Glenda (Steve) Stagg of Saint John; three sisters, Lois Cromwell of Toronto Ont., Constance Dunphy of Fredericton N B and Geraldine Knox(John) of Grand Bay-Westfield NB; nine grandchildren: Rod, Andy, Denise, Peter, Jennifer, Ian, Marcia, Brittany and Jason; five great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces; special friend, Margaret McIntyre. Ron was predeceased by a grandaughter Miranda. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (506)634-7424 with visiting on Wednesday, from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from St. George’s Anglican Church, Watson Street, West, on Friday, February 13, 2009, at 11:00 AM. Following the service a reception will be held in the church hall. Interment will be in Fernhill Cemetery, following the reception. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB, or any charity of the donor's choice.
