Obituary of C.N. Patrick Blagrave
Charles Nisbet Patrick Blagrave 1920 … 2009 Patrick Blagrave, husband of Jacqueline B. Blagrave, died peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2009 at home in Rothesay, New Brunswick. Pat met and married Jackie in Bermuda, after which they together tended the Anglican Parishes of Trinity (Fonthill ON), St. Mark’s (Niagara-on-the-Lake ON) and St. Jude’s (Oakville ON). In 1972, they moved to Rothesay where Pat was rector at St. Paul’s until he retired. Pat is survived by his wife Jackie and his children Dr. David Blagrave (Mary Anne) of Darlings Island NB, Margaret Wennberg (Michael) of Rothesay, Dr. Mark Blagrave (Sheila) of Sackville NB, and Tim Blagrave (Elke Michel-Blagrave) of Freilassing, Germany, by grandchildren Dr. Kevin Blagrave of Toronto ON, Sarah Nichol (Trevor) of Port Dover ON, Vanessa Kolyvas (Petros) of Montreal QC, Catherine Blagrave of Dunnville ON, Megan Wennberg of Halifax NS, Phillippa Wennberg of Toronto ON, Harriet Wennberg of St. Andrews, Scotland, Patrick Blagrave (Holly) of Ottawa ON and Nicholas Blagrave of Kingston ON, and by great-grandchildren Everett and Rachel Nichol. Funeral arrangements are through Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (www.brenansfh.com). The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Rothesay, on Tuesday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. A private interment will follow the service. Remembrances may be made to The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) or to any wildlife organization favouring species diversity. Snir: a contemplative, compassionate, complicated and gentle soul, with a quiet reverence for all living things, who yearned for simplicity, understanding, grace and truth. Tired of dying. Now at peace.
