Obituary of Brice Edmund Forsythe
Surrounded by his family, the passing of Brice Forsythe Sr., husband of Bertha (Savoie) Forsythe occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, April 19, 2009 after a period of failing health. Brice was born at Springhill, NS on August 18, 1925 to the late John and Elizabeth (Stewart) Forsythe. Brice worked in construction all of his life, getting his start at the Pender Nail Plant. Besides his wife Bertha, he is survived by three sons: Earnest of Upham, NB and John and Brice Jr. both of Saint John, NB; three daughters: Margaret Forsythe and Eleanor Sparks (Mike) both Saint John and Elizabeth Burns (Bob) of Sussex, NB; sister, June McKenna of Belleisle, NB; 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Brice was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 2:30 pm. Interment will take place later in summer at Thorburn, NS. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Lung Association.
