Obituary of Arthur St. Clair Durrant
The death of Arthur Durrant of the Nerepis Road, Grand Bay-Westfield, NB, husband of Phyllis (Warwick) Durrant, occurred on Monday, February 9th, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Courtright, ON, he was the son of the late Rev. C. R. and Isabella (Shields) Durrant. Arthur was a Veteran of WWII serving with the R.C.A.F., served as President of Canadian Office Products Association, was President of Carters Inc. Co. of Canada Ltd., resided in Windsor, London and Toronto, Ontario areas, Pointe Claire, PQ and Saint John, NB, was a member of the Westfield Golf and Country Club, Westfield United Church, former member of Summerlea Golf Club in Montreal, volunteered with meals-on-wheels and the St. John Ambulance in Westfield, for many years. Arthur is survived by one son, C. David Durrant of Owen Sound, ON; two granddaughters, Jennifer Durrant of Virginia, USA and Josie Kozack (Kelly) of Vancouver, BC; one great-grandson, Keegan Kozack; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Irene and Edna; and a brother, Eugene. At the family's request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 13th, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
