Obituary of Christine Elizabeth Mersereau-Mazerolle
The death of Christine Elizabeth (Saunders) Mersereau-Mazerolle of Moncton, NB, wife of the late Bernard Joseph Mersereau and her second husband, George Mazerolle, occurred on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Saint John on August 12, 1933, she was a daughter of the late William and Viola (Carpenter) Saunders. Christine loved cooking, knitting, playing bingo, needle point and watching wildlife. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker. Survived by three sons, Bernie (Sandra) Mersereau of Lorneville, NB; Robin (Marie Hayward) Mersereau and John (Elizabeth) Mersereau both of Quispamsis, NB; four daughters, Barbara Mersereau of Moncton, NB; Sharon (Steven Wilson) McQue of Rothesay, NB; Kathy Mersereau of Toronto, ON and Judith Walton of Rothesay; seven grandchildren, Meredith and Melissa Mersereau, Drew and Amber Young, Jamie, Michael and Christopher Walton; three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua Leblanc and Damon Walton; two brothers, Jack (Dot) and Roger Saunders; one sister, Betty-Lou Saunders; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one daughter, Helen Mersereau; five brothers, Walter, John, Clarence, Jay and Hugh Saunders; two sisters, Ella Daglish and Frances Hilden. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be celebrated from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2:30 pm. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or any charity of the donor’s choice. www.brenansfh.com
