Obituary of Anthony Lordon
Lordon, Dr. John Anthony Gerard … John Anthony Gerard Lordon of Quispamsis, NB passed away peacefully on October 8, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit with his family at his side. Anthony was born on May 7, 1960 the son of Donald Chesley Lordon and the late Katherine Olivia (Foster) Lordon. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his three children, Katherine “Katie” (Joey Thompson) of Saint John, Leah and Benjamin, both of Rothesay, NB; one sister, Katherine Ann Burnett (Sean Howard) of Saint John; three sisters-in-law, Linda (Doug) Ewart, Sandra (Danny) Bannister and Cathy Steeves; mother-in-law, Ann Downey of Lorneville, NB; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Besides his mother he was predeceased by a sister Mary Elizabeth Lordon and his father-in-law, Percy Downey. Anthony was a Family Doctor in Saint John from 1987 to 2008. Dr. Tony loved his seniors, his pediatric and chronically ill patients. Anyone who knew him knew he was passionate about his medical practice. Family was important to Anthony, time with his children was always treasured. Daily conversations with his Dad were a constant in his life. He enjoyed travel, especially trips with his Dad or children, reading and chemistry, physics and mathematics. Anthony asked that his curriculum vitae not be listed here; he felt that life has more to do with how you treated and interacted with people than by a list of accomplishments. His favorite words of advice to his children were, “It’s okay to fail but far less acceptable to quit” and “Your words have to mean something … a man without integrity has nothing”. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Waterloo St., Saint John on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 12:05 pm. Interment will be in Lorneville Cemetery. Remembrances to the Hospice Foundation, Alzheimer Society, the Cathedral Fund, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church or any charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com
