Obituary of Doris Beatrice McKenzie

Surrounded by her family, Doris B. McKenzie, wife of the late Delbert McKenzie of St Andrews House, Millidgeville, and formerly of Pleasant City Street, Saint John East, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday May 18, 2010. Born in Fredericton on December 30, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mabel (Parker) Toner. Doris spent the greater part of her life in Saint John and had been employed for many years at Calps Department Store. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Doris is survived by a son, Wayne McKenzie (Joan) of Millidgeville; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by a daughter, Leila Loker in 1987 and a son Donald in 1988; a brother Borden and a sister Hazel. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 21,2010 at 1:00 pm from Brenan’s Chapel. A reception will be held at Brenan’s Reception Centre, followed by interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
