Obituary of Cornelis Van Beelen

The death of Cornelis “Kon” Van Beelen of Saint John, husband of Marilyn (Hunter) Van Beelen, occurred unexpectedly on Friday, June 18, 2010 at his residence. Born at Saint John on March 2, 1945, he was a son of the late Cornelis and Hazel (Marney) Van Beelen. Kon was employed at Supreme Auto Centre for several years. He was an avid Toronto Blue Jays and NASCAR fan. Kon adored his loving family and watching his grandchildren play sports. Besides his wife, Kon is survived by his sons; Chris, Kevin (Amber) both of Saint John and Stephen (Robin) of Rothesay, NB, brother; Fred (Lana) of Saint John, grandchildren; Cameron, Brooke, Nicholas, Justin, Alex, Bryanna, Sandrina, as well as many nieces and nephews. Kon was predeceased by his brother, Wayne. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, 634-7424, with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 10:00 AM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment to take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
