Obituary of William Hardie Rae Gibson
With great sadness the family of William Hardie Rae Gibson announces his passing. As an active outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping and ATVing. Moving from Scotland to South Africa and then to Canada, Bill settled in working as an Industrial Mechanic at Moosehead Breweries. With his partner Vicky and oldest son Billy by his side, Bill slipped away peacefully on September 11, 2010. He was born in Dundee, Scotland, on July 24, 1948. Bill leaves behind his partner, Vicky Fillmore (Balemans), along with her daughters, Samantha and Alexandria Balemans, whom he loved very much; his children, Billy (Cathee), Grand Bay – Westfield; Paul, Calgary, Alberta; Stuart (Samantha) Stockton-On-Tees, England. Bill was very proud of his grandchildren, Hannah, Ross and Archie. He will be sadly missed by his surviving brother Harry Gibson and his mum, Alison (Gibson) McGuigan and her husband, Peter McGuigan, aunt, Helen Cook. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, with a Masonic Tribute Service Tuesday, 7 PM. Funeral service will be celebrated from Brenan’s Chapel, on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 2:00 PM.For those who wish, remembrances to Saint John Animal Rescue League and the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
