Obituary of Charles Gray
The death of Gordon Gray, husband of the late Glendeen (Fairweather) Gray, occurred at the Kennebec Manor on Monday, September 13, 2010. He was born at Saint John, NB on March 7, 1924 to the late Roy C. and Mary E. (MacKenzie) Gray. Gordon worked for Irving Oil Ltd. for many years, retiring as a Claims Supervisor. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, Saint John Main Brace Naval Veterans softball team 1947-1949 and was inducted to the N.B. Softball Hall of Fame in 1997. Both Gordon and Glendeen enjoyed many summers traveling with the Glooscap campers. Gordon is survived by son Charles and his wife Teresa of Saint John; daughter, Deborah Sewell and her husband Allen of Mississauga, ON; sister: Audrey Coleman of Petitcodiac; sister-in-law, Muriel Gray of Ottawa, ON and two grandchildren: Michael Sewell and his wife Kwin and Christopher Gray. Besides his loving wife and parents, Gordon was predeceased by his brother, Ron Gray and sister, Jean Matheson. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A graveside service will be held in Fernhill Cemetery on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 2:00 PM. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
