Obituary of Donald Frances Hobin
Announcing the death of Donald Frances Hobin, 73 of 112 Tilley Dr. Fredericton, NB, E3B 5L1. Mr. Hobin passed away Friday, April 2nd, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer Born in Halifax, NS. He was the son of the late Michael and Bessie (Shiers) Hobin and the husband of the late Carmel (Morneau) Hobin. Prior to his retirement Mr. Hobin worked for United Van Lines (Hoyts Moving and Storage) for a great number of years. Mr. Hobin is survived by five sons Timothy (Yvonne), Scott (Darelyn) of Halifax, Stephen (Dawn), Kevin ( Bobby-Jo), David (Mary) of Fredericton, and five daughters, Debbie (Lawrence), Lynette (Kevin), Jane (Frank) of Halifax, Diane (Tom) Robinson of Alberta, Kathy (Ken) Brown of Fredericton. Mr. Hobin also had three brothers, Eric (Vi) of Hamilton, Terry (Dolly) of Tantallon, and Fred of Halifax. Three sisters. Bernice (Pat) Benoit of Tatamagouche, Carol Benoit and Jean (David) Ardley of Dartmouth. Mr. Hobin also had a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Hobin was predeceased by his wife, a brother John and a sister June. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Monday, April 5th, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Tuesday, April 6th, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Dunstan's Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 7th, 2004 at 12:00 Noon. Monsignor Brian Sheehan as celebrant. Interment will be in the Hermitage Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to Canadian Cancer Society, NB Lung Association or SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
