Obituary of W. Ronald Gamble
William Ronald “Ron” Gamble husband of Clarisse (Paterson) Gamble passed away at his home in Summerville, NB, on Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Ron, son of the late William James and Jean Elizabeth (Hughes) Gamble. Was predeceased by his first wife, Frances Elizabeth (McMulkin). Ron is survived by his children, Michael (Anitra) Gamble, Kimberley (Jim) Scovil both of Fredericton, NB; stepchildren, Robert (Jocelyn) Paterson and Gregory (Tanya) Paterson both of Saint John; grandchildren, Alyssa, Anissa, Jeannie, and Curtis; step-grandchildren, Kate, Elizabeth, Megan, Lydia, Sarah and Ann; three brothers, Jim (Shirley), Robert (Fran) and Gordon (Sue) Gamble; three sisters, Pauline Gamble, Joan (Fred) Waters and Margaret (Wayne) Colwell; many nieces and nephews. Ron retired from Gamble Fuels, 20 years ago, during which time he enjoyed his winters in Florida, where he took his love of golf to extend the season. Upon his return, his vegetable garden was a pride and joy which he enjoyed sharing with friends and neighbours. Ron was a dedicated family man and a friend to all who knew him. By Ron’s request, there will be no formal visitation. A memorial service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, on Friday, November 26, 2010 at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow to greet family and friends. A private interment will take place on Saturday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
