Obituary of Edrys Mary Althea Wright
Edrys Mary Althea Wright of Saint John, wife of the late John Waldo Wright, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John on June 9, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Ena (Campbell) Quinn. Edrys worked in the X-Ray Department at the Saint John Regional Hospital for many years. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #87, a former member of the Recycled Teenagers Bowling League, and enjoyed playing bingo and cards. She enjoyed traveling, often taking bus tours or trips with her family all over North America. Edrys is survived by her children Mary Olsen (Kenneth) of Saint John, John Wright (T’Anne) of Saint John, Judy Wright (Patsy) of Saint John, and Wally Wright of Grand Bay-Westfield; a sister, Gladys Martin of Grand Bay-Westfield; a brother, Warren Quinn (Zaida) of Saint John; a sister-in-law, Gladys (Poore) Quinn of Saint John; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Edrys was predeceased by a son, Ronald; a daughter, Gloria (Wright) Slattery; sisters Grace Fry, Ena Cochrane, and Clair Quinn; and brothers John and Walter Quinn. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Dialysis Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital or the Children’s Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
