Obituary of M. Jean Cox
The death of M. Jean Cox, of the Loch Lomond Villa, wife of the late Gerald Cox, occurred on Friday, May 21, 2004 at her residence. Born in Saint John on September 13, 1903, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Martha Ann (MacFarlane) Douglas. Jean was a formerly employed with M.R.A.'s Department Store in the Foundation Department and was a former member of Park Avenue United Church and the Fireside Club. She was an avid bridge player and a member of the Loch Lomond Villa Seniors Club and Auxiliary. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and step-children. She was predeceased by her first husband, Harold Kierstead, brothers, Willard and Warren Douglas and one sister, Irene Brown. By request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at the Loch Lomond Villa Chapel, Saint John, on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Paul Rodey officiating. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
