Obituary of B. Marjorie Long
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Marjorie Long of Saint John, wife of the late Joseph John Long, which occurred on Monday, January 2, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Montague, PEI on July 22, 1919, she was a daughter of the late George and Beryl (Perkins) Clarkson. Marjorie retired from Labatt’s/Oland Breweries as a secretary. She was a member of Trinity Anglican Church and also a member of Trinity-Loyalist A.C.W, the Young Women’s Guild, Trinity Parish Guild, NB Association of Celiac and a life member of the Saint John Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by her children, John Long (Nelda) and Nancy McDougall (David); two grandchildren, Heather Boshart (Keith) and Andrew McDougall (Kate Gover); one great-granddaughter, Sophie Boshart; brother-in-law, Gerald Black; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband, sisters, Helen Clarkson; Hazel Black; brother, David Clarkson and infant brother, John Clarkson. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 from 2-9 pm. Visiting will also be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 12 noon until 1:30 pm at Trinity Anglican Church, 115 Charlotte Street. The funeral service to be held at 2:00 pm at Trinity Anglican Church. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances would be appreciated by the family to the NB Celiac Association or any charity of the donor’s choice.
