Obituary of Charlotte Gladys Goulding
Charlotte Gladys Goulding passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Saint John, NB, on Sunday, April 29, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Born in Clarenville, Newfoundland on February 17, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Jessie Strong. She attended Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland and taught school before moving to Saint John, NB where she lived for 64 years and developed many treasured friendships. Charlotte was employed with New System Laundry as Claims officer, for 25 years. Charlotte is survived by her daughter Jessie Moores (Lloyd), sister, Gertrude Oldford (William), grandchildren, Lewis Paffile, Gary Paffile, Justine Goulding, Brandy Demille and Keri Ann Doig and great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Clement Goulding and son, Gary Goulding. As a member of Portland United Church for 62 years, she was a life member of the Ada Myles Unit of the U.C.W. and a member of the Jessie Langille Unit. As well, Charlotte was a member of the Sapphire Rebekah Lodge # 37 and the Randolph Senior’s Club. Charlotte will be sadly missed by her many friends, family and all who knew her. For many years Charlotte and Clem succeeded in fulfilling their motto of doing a good deed every day and Charlotte continued this practice as long as she was able. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Monday, April 30, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, 12:00 pm at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Field of Honour.
