Obituary
Obituary of Richard Donald Garnett
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our brother, uncle and special friend, Ricky who lost his valiant battle with Cancer on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Bobby’s Hospice. He was born in Saint John on December 6, 1957 to the late Steven and Frances (Corner) Garnett. Ricky was a kind hearted person who loved and was loved by everyone who knew him. He enjoyed gardening at his residence in Willow Grove and shopping excursions with his sister-in-law, Linda. Ricky shared a love of Elvis Presley with his sister, Mary. During the last days of his life Ricky could always be seen with a smile on his face helping the nurses at 3BN/3CN and most recently Bobby’s Hospice. He is survived by six brothers: Robert (Anita), Eugene (Audrey), Ronald, Dougie (Tina), Frankie (Linda), and Murray; four sisters: Mary Speight (Redvers), Lois Wilson (Dwight) from Vernon, BC, Donna Zamora (Lorenzo), Hazel Tyler (Joe) and numerous nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Monday from 2:00 – 9:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 12 noon. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice or the Garnett Settlement Christian Church would be appreciated by the family. "Ricky always asked when he was going home, and now we can finally say he’s home in the loving hands of his mother, and our savior Lord, Jesus Christ"
