Obituary of Prudence H. H. Kirtley
Kirtley, Prudence Helen Hayter – Surrounded by her family, the death of Prudence Kirtley, life partner of the late Frank O’Brien Sr., occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, May 4, 2012. She was born on November 24, 1928 in Saint John to the late John George and Helen Eliza (Hayter) Kirtley. Prudence devoted her life to her family. She was a selfless and loving mother and her grandchildren’s greatest fan. After her children were grown, Prudence attended the Saint John School of Nursing, graduating in 1973. She worked as an LPN at Centracare until her retirement in 1984. Prudence loved dancing, sewing, rescuing abandoned cats, and was a long-time member of the New Brunswick Genealogical Society. She is survived by her sons: John Williamson (Rachel) of Fredericton, Harold Jennings of Apohaqui and Scott Jennings of Grand Prairie, AB; daughters: Sharon Lively of Saint John, Maricia Williamson of Toronto, ON, Nancy Atkinson (Joseph) of Maryland, WA and Veronica Holmes (Michael) of Hampton; 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 12 noon. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
