Obituary of L. Clifford Billiard
The death of Mr. L. Clifford (Cliff) Billiard of Red Head Road, husband of the late Marion (McLachlan) Billiard , occurred on Sunday, December 1, 2002 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was a son of the late James and Ruth (Wyld) Billiard. Cliff was employed with the Saint John Ironworks for many years and with the Coast Guard for over twenty-two years before retirement. He was a member of Park Avenue United Church and a veteran of the Second World War in which he served with the Royal Canadian Navy. He was an avid gardener. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Margaret Rebecca Mawhinney (Kenneth) of Maces Bay; one niece, Rebecca Mawhinney (Jarvis) of Upper Coverdale, NB; 2 nephews, Warren Mawhinney (Lynn) of Keswick, NB and Graham Billiard of Cambridge, NB. He was predeceased by a brother, Alfred and a sister, Berthina Janes A private family funeral will be held from Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424) on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice. www.brenansfh.com
