Obituary of M. Rosanna Bernatchez

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Mary Rosanna (Larocque) Bernatchez, of Saint John, wife of the late J.L. Ernest Bernatchez, which occurred on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Campbellton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Philippe and Anna (Vaillancourt dis Paradis) Larocque. She was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the laundry and housekeeping until her retirement in 1986, Riverside Golf and Country Club as a waitress and part – time at the CNIB, Manawagonish Road. Rosanna is survived by four sons, Claude (Marguerite), Roland (Marilyn), Bernard and Guy; one daughter, Bernadette Crowley (Michael) all of Saint John; one brother, Henri Larocque (Mary May) of Quebec; ten grandchildren, Jason, Monique Doiron, Roland, Richard, Tanya Olsen, Lisa Margaris, Gary, Keith, Julie Gould, Erica Petek; seventeen great-granchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by one daughter, Claudine; one grandson, Mark; three sisters, Beatrice, Leontine, Adelina; two brothers, William and Edmond. To honour Rosanna’s request there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 31, 2012 from Our Lady of the Assumption at 12:00 noon.. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424).
