Redvers Wellington "Junior" Speight, husband of Mary (Garnett) Speight, passed away on September 5, 2012, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on May 25, 1933, he was a son of the late Redvers and Myrtle (Monroe) Speight. Junior worked for Willett Fruit Company for over 35 years, and was a dedicated Toronto Maple Leafs fan. In addition to his wife of 57 years, Junior is survived by his sons Dale (Theresa) and Eugene (Shelley); both of Saint John, daughters Judy (Steve) of Ontario, Nancy and Rosanne (Gordon); both of Saint John, grandsons Jason, Matthew, Justin and Blake, great-grandson Mason, and his beloved pet, Angel. In addition to his parents, Junior was pre-deceased by a sister, Glady, and brothers Bill and Jimmy. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, September 10 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
