Obituary of Edward Eatmon

The death of Edward “Yicky” Eatmon, of 6 Barry Court, Saint John, husband of Gladys (Wright) Eatmon, occurred unexpectedly on Monday, July 5, 2004, at his residence. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Edwin and Mary (Haines) Eatmon. Yicky attended Saint John Vocational School and was employed in Construction and General Labour and was a member of Local 900. He will be especially missed by his grandsons, who he had a special relationship with. Besides his wife, he is survived two sons, Jason Hicks and Stephen Whittaker both of Saint John, three daughters, Leslie Whittaker of Toronto, ON, Crystal and Cherry Wright, both of Saint John, one brother, Wendell Eatmon (Linda) of Montreal, PQ, two sisters, Marilyn Girouard of Ontario and Cheryl McLaughlin of Saint John, two grandchildren, Bailey and Caleb, two uncles, Ransford Haines and Raymond Eatmon, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents who raised him, Dubert and Sarah (Neils) Eatmon and his parents. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday 7-9 PM and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 2:15 PM. Following cremation, Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances to Elm Hill Cemetery Fund or the Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
