Obituary of Elizabeth Rachel Pitt
Surrounded by her family the death of Elizabeth Pitt, wife of the late Ronald Pitt occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on September 29, 2012. She was born in Saint John on February 7, 1934 to the late George and Helen (Nolan) Cook. Elizabeth worked at the Dominion Stores until her retirement. She was a selfless wife and mother; she devoted her life to her family. Elizabeth loved all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, looking forward to their visits. Elizabeth is survived by her sons: Ronald (Vera), Walter, and George all of Saint John; daughters: Betty Marr (James), and Theresa Speight (Dale) of Saint John and Catherine Pitt of Montreal, QC; twin brother, George ‘William’ Nolan (Betty Lou); brother, Vincent Nolan; sister, Mary Kindred many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; parents; infant son, Raymond Vincent Pitt (1968); brother: Walter Francis James Nolan (1944 in World War II) and sister, Helen Monahan (1987). Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Monday from 2-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 2 pm. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
