Obituary of Thomas M. Boyce

With his family at his side , Tom joined his beloved wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Boyce in heaven on Saturday, November 10, 2012. He passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a brief period of illness. Born November 9, 1930 in Saint John, he was a son of the late Edward and Beatrice (Doiron) Boyce. Tom worked for many companies during his career; Brock-Massey, Gordon MacKay, Thornes, the Saint John Post Office and retired as Post-Master of the Chatham Post Office. In his youth, he was an outstanding baseball and badminton player. Tom was a faithful and active member of St. Peter’s Church. He and Betty spent many summers at their cottage in Chapel Grove and in their retirement years enjoyed time with family and traveling to many different places together. Tom loved his family dearly and always went above and beyond for them. He is survived by his children: Michael (Maureen), Susan Seely, Patty Rasch (Stephen), and Mark (Tabatha); sister, Sister Mary-Ellen Boyce; brothers, Edward (Margaret) and Joe (Rhoda); sisters-in-law, Marilyn, Pam, Helen (Brad), Irene and Elsie; grandchildren: Jason, Tom, Kevin, Stephanie, Kristen, Jessica, Kyle, Jeremy, Rebecca, Kailey, Richard, Laurissa, and Joshua, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son-in-law, Greg Seely; brothers: Raymond and John and sisters: Germaine and Mary. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church, 50 Clarendon Street on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish remembrances to the charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
