Obituary of Joseph Edward Lowney

Joseph Edward "Junior" Lowney of Saint John passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Bobby’s Hospice, surrounded by his family. Joe was born at Saint John on October 20, 1947, a son of the late Joseph and Irene (Bourgeois) Lowney. Joe worked for Jacob’s Catalytic for several years, and was a member of the Buffalo Club. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed playing cards and liked the outdoors, and was a fan of the Montreal Canadiens. Joe is survived by his siblings, JoAnn Howlett (James) of Saint John, Frank Lowney of North Bay, ON, Diane Diehl (Stanley) of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Barb Scoville (Ronald) of Saint John, Graham Lowney of Saint John, and Donna Borden (Bill) of Enfield, NS; several nieces and nephews, and one grand nephew. In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by a nephew, Rex MacDonald. Although there will be no visitation time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
