Obituary of G. Frank Langmaid
Surrounded by his family the death of Frank Langmaid occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on Friday, December 21, 2012 after a valiant battle with Cancer. He was born on July 11, 1939, in Fredericton to the late G. H. "Mike" and L. Joyce (Bishop) Langmaid. Frank started his career as a lineman for NB Power, moved into an instructors role with the Department of Labour and retired as a manager of various line utility companies. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Sussex Golf and Country Club. Frank was also a member of the Elks Lodge Branch #274, Fredericton. He was a devoted father, grandfather and dog owner; his two dogs: Casper and Shadow were his chosen family. Frank is survived by his son: Frank (Bonnie) of Grand Bay-Westfield; daughters: Kathy Smith (Eldon) and Kim Long (Wayne); companion, Marg Hoar; brother, Richard (Bertha); grandchildren: Jason (Shayna), Chris, Steve (Ashleigh), Katie, Jeremy (Laetitia) and Jordan; great-grandchildren: Brianna, Riley and Clara and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; son, George; daughter, Ann Louise and sister, Charlotte Ann. A heartfelt thank you to the doctors, staff and volunteers of Bobby’s Hospice for the extraordinary care and compassion we received during our stay. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A private family graveside service will take place in Wilmot Rural Cemetery, Fredericton. For those who wish remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice or the Elks Lodge #274 would be appreciated by the family.
