Obituary of John Daniel Kenneth Whalen

The unexpected death of Ken Whalen occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, December 31, 2012. He was born on February 21, 1952 in Miscouche, PE to the late John and Rita (DesRoche) Whalen. Ken worked at Car Quest as a Supervisor. In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf and pool. Ken also enjoyed a good game of table hockey with his nephew, Troy. Ken was a great man and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his son, Jesse Whalen; grandson, Colin Whalen; sisters: Dianne Kirkpatrick (Ken), Carol Legere, and Deborah Whalen (Earl Waugh); brother, Brian Whalen; nephews: Troy Legere and Ken Kirkpatrick (Linda); nieces: Charlene Quirk (Al) and Cheryl Kirkpatrick (Peter Smith) and significant other, Carol Phillips. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
