Obituary of M. Theresa Comeau
Mary Theresa (Ward) Comeau, Saint John, NB, cherished wife of Terry M. Comeau, passed away peacefully at Rocmaura Nursing Home on Friday, January 4, 2013, in the presence of her loving family. Born on July 6, 1939, the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Hurley) Ward, Theresa graduated from St. Vincent’s School and entered the New Brunswick Teachers’ College, after which her teaching career of more than 35 years was spent mentoring students of St. John the Baptist School. For their entire married life Terry and Theresa were inseparable. Whether traveling to Prince Edward Island in the summer, jogging on University Avenue and around the Millidgeville area, going on Sunday drives, barbeques, trips to the beach, or entertaining their many friends on countless occasions, they were always together. In their leisure time, Terry and Theresa travelled around Canada and the United States and every year enjoyed one of the New York theater productions. She was a faithful parishioner of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception where she served as a Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister while her health allowed. She was a gentle and consummate lady who will be sorely missed by family and friends. In addition to her husband of 49 years and very best friend, Terry, she is survived by her son, Dr. Terrance Comeau of Saint John; a sister, Doreen Ward of Calgary, Alberta; brothers-in-law Bob Comeau (Pat), Rick Comeau (Jocelyn), Joe Comeau and Hilton Comeau (Marlene), all of Saint John; a special family friend, Christo Migas; and several nieces and nephews. Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:30 AM from St. John the Baptist Church, 54 Broad Street, Saint John. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Rocmaura Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
