Obituary of John Douglas Day

Day, John Douglas – It is with great sadness that the family of John Douglas Day of Saint John, husband of the late, Catherine (Arsenault) Day, which occurred on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at his residence. Born on November 10, 1924 he was a son of the late John Sr. and Flora (Clayton) Day. John worked for the Saint John Dry Dock as a Steel Worker for many years. He was a veteran of WWII of the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps as a Private. John was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 53. He is survived by his sons, Calvin and Alan (Anne) Day both of Saint John; grandchildren, Christopher, Jon, Jason, Michael and Bailey; great grandson Jakob ; brother, Donald of Saint John; sister, Valerie Wyles-Hershey of Ontario; several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, January 24, from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 12:00 noon from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment to take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
