Obituary of Marilyn E. Lavoie
It is with sadness that the family of Marilyn E. Lavoie, wife of Marcel Lavoie, announces her passing on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her loving family at her side. Born on January 4, 1940 in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Edith Dickison. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her so much joy. A kind and giving friend, Marilyn enjoyed playing bingo and darts. Marilyn was a member of the Maple Leaf Glades. She is survived by her son, Frank Smith (Aggie); daughter, Brenda Smith; three grandchildren, Shyanne Smith, Frank Smith Jr. and Jorja Lavoie; four great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Eric, Mason and Destiny. Marilyn is also survived by seven siblings, Gordon Dickison, Jackie Verner (Frank), Mary Dickison, Lois Martin, Barbara Dickison, Doug "Albert" Dickison (Noella) and Carol Dickison (Mike); special friend, Colleen Thebideau; numerous nieces and nephews. Marilyn was predeceased by her siblings, Edith Verner, Stan Dickison, Joan Dickison, Albert Dickison, Bobby Dickison, Jean Dickison and Charles Dickison and daughter-in-law, Sharon Lynn Smith. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 12:00 noon from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
