Obituary of Patricia Penelope Ridgway
It is with great sadness the family of Patricia "Pat" Ridgway, wife of Harvey "Matt" Ridgway, announces her passing on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born at Glace Bay, NS on November 10, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret (Burchell) MacDonald. In addition to her husband, Pat is survived by a daughter Keely Murphy (the late Joe) of Haymarket, Virginia; a son Matthew Ridgway (Jessica Steele) of Cold Lake, Alberta. She is also survived by her three beautiful granddaughters, Lauren, Morgan, and Reagan Murphy and her cherished grandson, Stephen Ridgway; sister Ann Marie Rosnok, brothers, Stephen MacDonald (Marjorie) and Neil MacDonald; as well as several nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by her parents; brother Howard MacDonald; son-in-law Joe Murphy; and a brother-in-law André Rosnok. Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, mother-in-law, aunt and friend. She cherished and loved the time spent with her family and friends. Pat loved to travel and was an avid NASCAR fan (Earnhardt #88, #3). She spent weekends watching races. Other hobbies included darts, bowling, and camping. Pat was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 58, and Branch 2 Ladies Auxiliary. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 12:00 Noon from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice, the Canadian Cancer Society, or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
