Obituary of J. Arthur Amero
The death of Joseph Arthur “Art” Amero of 515 Ellerdale Street, Saint John, husband of the late Mary Katherine (Amos) Amero, occurred on Saturday, October 16, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Joseph and Inez (Small) Amero. Art was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #53 and former member of branches #14 and #2 and was employed with the CNR for many years before his retirement. He is survived by one sister, Yvonne Ruggels of Montreal, PQ, nephews, Hilton and Terry, nieces, Cathy, Patricia, Dorothy and Pamela, special friends, Charlie “Bidge” and Betty Howe as well several other nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his brother, Gordon and a sister, June. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at 10:00 AM. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute to a Veteran service on Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
