Obituary of Eugene Hardy
The death of Eugene Hardy, of Ridgewood Veterans Wing, occurred at his residence on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Born May 1, 1924, he was a son of the late Wallace and Rose (Doucet) Hardy. He was the husband of the late Frances (Munford) Hardy, who predeceased him in 2004. Eugene was a Merchant Marine in the Canadian Navy during World War II on the Princess Helene. Following the War, he worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway, and at the New Brunswick Museum until his retirement. Eugene is survived by his sons: Troy Hardy (Monique), Scott Hardy, and Wayne Hardy (Patricia); grandchildren: Danielle Hardy, Trevor Hardy, Matthew Hardy, Jessica Hardy, Bryan Hardy, Shannon Naves, Michelle Hardy, and Karen Hardy; sister, Ida; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by his son, Stephen; and several brothers and sisters. Resting at Brenans’ Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 12 pm till 2 pm, at which time a funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to Ridgewood Veterans Wing would be appreciated by the family.
