Obituary of Florence Edith Patricia Shannon
The death of Florence Edith Patricia (Bannister) Shannon formerly of The Admiral Beatty Seniors Complex, Saint John, NB, wife of the late Francis “Frank” M. Shannon, occurred on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at the Moncton City Hospital. Born in Saint John she was a daughter of the late George W. and Margaret Jane (Scott) Bannister and had worked as Hostess at the Royal Hotel for more than thirty years. Florence was an active member of Trinity Anglican Church where she was a member of the A.C.W., she also was a member of The Admiral Beatty Seniors Club and enjoyed being a member of TOPS. Survived by her daughter, Patricia (Malcolm) MacKenney of Moncton, NB; two sisters, Audrey McInnis and Margaret Halvorsen, both of Saint John; two grandchildren, Malcolm MacKenney and Susan (Rob) Cormier, both of Riverview, NB; three great-grandchildren, Kate, Trent and Garret Cormier; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers, Roy and George Bannister and one sister, Bernice Bannister. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Thursday, November 11, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2004 at 2:15 pm from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, the Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of the donor's choice.
