Obituary of John Francis 'Bud' O'Leary
The death of John O’Leary of Saint John, cherished husband of Joan (Vaughan) O’Leary occurred on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on February 1, 1926, he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth (McEachern) O’Leary. John started his working career as a Longshoreman and retired as a machine operator for Labatt’s Brewery. He was a loyal Toronto Blue Jays fan and also enjoyed watching golf. John had a true love for cars and in his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting. In addition to his wife, Bud is also survived by his children, Randy O’Leary (Lyanne) of Oakville, ON, Patti Boudreau (Mario) of Upper Tantallon, NS and Jodi O’Leary of Saint John; step-children, Jackie Ainsworth of Saint John and Brent Ainsworth of Almont, ON; grandchildren, Mary-Anne (Alex), Kyle (Rebecca), Alysia, Kern, Heidi, Christian and William; great-granddaughter, Natalie; several nieces and nephews. Bud was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth (Shaw) O’Leary; granddaughter, Josie; sister, Shirley; as well as brothers, James Jr. and Donald. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church, 50 Clarendon Street, Saint John on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Rocmaura Foundation, St. Peter’s Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
