Obituary of Dorothy 'Dot' Eleanor O'Neill
The death of Dorothy O’Neill of Saint John, wife of the late Edward O’Neill occurred on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on October 3, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Muriel (Lingley) Lockhart. Prior to her retirement, Dot was employed with Kmart in West Saint John. Dot is survived by her children; Dawn Hurley (Jerry) of Saint John, Beverley Amos (Hilton) of Fredericton, Deborah Sullivan (Stewart) of the Kingston Peninsula, Cathy Clain (Michael) of Saint John, Mary Patricia "Patti" LeBlanc (Wayne) of Hoyt and Vincent O’Neill (Carole) of Saint John; sister, Angela MacKenzie of Saint John; brother, Billy Lockhart of Saint John; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Burt and Roy Lockhart; grandsons, LT Christopher Saunders and Michael Claine; as well as brother-in-law, Samuel MacKenzie. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, April 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Portland United Church or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
