This man right here is someone the worlds gonna miss. Him and Jamie Richard are the two people who introduced me and my wife to celebrate recovery at kings church. Both of them had a big part in my sobriety. A big part in why I’m alive today. He always had a smile on his face no matter what. And every time he spoke you always felt his words. There two people that are now angels watching over me all the time. I’m so thankful I got to meet Doug and Jamie as not only were they there for me but they were there for my wife when I couldn’t be. Praying for us both. They kept my wife together while I was gone and couldn’t be here and had they not I probably wouldn’t have the life I have and the family I support everyday. Your gonna be missed more then you’ll ever know. Please keep an eye over me and my family. Until we meet again. R.I.P Jamie and Doug. Two of the most unselfish people I have ever met.

Very, very sorry to hear of Doug's passing. He was a great role model for me and lots of other guys here in Brown's Flat. He was our Scout leader and ball coach. He did both with passion and humour. I will always remember him fondly.

My sincere condolences on the passing of Doug (my 2nd cousin). I remember the summers I spent at Gram and Pap Johnson's when I was a kid and the times we had together going for drives on the back roads and going to Hilly's Country Store in Jone's Creek.

Very sorry for your loss…and ours. Doug was well loved by all of us at Celebrate Recovery. He was well respected , having “been there and done that” in his life. His sage advice was always appreciated. He loved Jesus. We have an internal communication stream at CR and I’ve enjoyed the comments of how different people interacted and knew Doug. He was a connector in ways he probably didn’t even know, and we are all grateful for Doug. My thoughts and prayer go out to his family.
