Obituary of Corinne Mary Osborne (O'Leary)
It is with great sadness, but gratitude for a blessed life, that we announce the passing of our dear wife and mom, Corinne Mary Osborne. Corinne passed peacefully, surrounded by family at Bobby’s Hospice on August 28th. Born on April 19th, 1947, Corinne was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Jackson) O’Leary.
Corinne had three great loves, Faith, Family and Friends. Her family meant the world to her. Her husband was the love of her life, each child was a blessing and her nine grandchildren were her treasures. Corinne graduated from St. Thomas University and had the privilege of teaching at Tobique First Nations and around British Columbia before settling into her career as “Madame Osborne” back in Saint John. After retiring from teaching, Corinne and John enjoyed winters in Florida and travelling around the world. They loved cruises, especially travelling across the Atlantic on the Queen Mary II. Corinne loved to sing and entertained many weddings and celebrations over the years. She was a known bargain shopper (even her urn was on sale!) and she was especially proud of her Irish heritage.
Corinne’s faith provided many life-giving experiences. She grew with the Sisters of Charity, Ignatious Spirituality (CLC) and enjoyed many blessed years with the Secular Franciscan Order.
Corinne is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, John. Children, Dan (Jen) and Michael (Teri) both of Saint John, Stephen (Amber) of Niagara Falls, ON and Joe (Ryan) and Shauna (James) both of Halifax. Her greatest joy in life was being “Nanny” to her beloved grandchildren, Ava, Isaac, Violet, Alayah, Sophia, Aiden, Maxim, Sawyer and Audrey. She is also survived by her sister, Carole Stuart. Corinne was predeceased by her parents and daughter, Maura.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital’s Palliative Care team for all they did at the beginning of her journey. And to the care team at Bobby’s, we will never have enough words to thank you for the compassion you showed our wife and mom on her final days.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will take place on Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 3:00 - 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Ann's Church, 135 Simpson Drive, Saint John on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 2:00 PM. For those unable to attend, the Mass will be livestreamed and can be viewed by visiting Corinne’s obituary on the Brenan’s website. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Mom, we will remember you with every song, in every prayer and on every Saint Patrick’s Day.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Divine Mercy Catholic School, Wounded Warriors Canada, Bobby’s Hospice or to Franciscans International.
