Dear Barb and family,
I was saddened to learn of David’s recent passing. As a friend and former work colleague I always found David to be a person of strong moral character and integrity. His friendship, wisdom and sense of humour was deeply valued during our time together at the WHSCC. I have many happy recollections of trips, golf games, meals together and the occasional libation in David’s company. It is unfortunate that time and distance interrupted our friendship. I truly regret not having made an effort to stay in touch with David following my retirement.
Please know that Elaine and I have you in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Barb and family, I am so sorry to hear about Dave’s passing. I have many fond memories of many social events with you, Barb and Dave when my family and I were newcomers to Quispamsis. You helped make those years a lot of fun. Although we moved away, it has been nice to keep in touch. Sending you a big virtual hug, Barb. I wish I could be there for you as you and your generous heart have always been there for everyone else. Take care and know that Dave will always have a special place in all our memories. Barb, David and Brent - it is evident from perusing the flood of memories and condolences that Dave was a great man and that's not a label that should be applied loosely. All I can personally add is that he was a constant stabilizing influence on myself during my time at the WHSCC. I valued his insight, counsel and presence.
Barb, you know Beth and I are thinking of you constantly and we send our condolences to the entire family.

Dear Barb and family we were devastated and dumbstruck when we heard the news. Dave was truly a GENTLEMAN and “a gentle man”. He was an institution and a highly respected legend at Westfield. For those who had the privilege of joining Dave for “ a good walk spoiled” they will have many fond memories of their time with Dave on the links. I feel truly honoured to have had this privilege many times over my time at Westfield. Our thoughts and prayers as you work through your grief and we hope you will be comforted by many fond memories of your time with this special man.

Barb, sons and family. My condolences for your recent loss. Dave was a mentor to many at WorkSafeNB. He was a brilliant problem solver and introduced significant process improvements to our organization. He led transformational changes in our case management practices and accident investigations, many of which continue to serve our clients today. Most of all he was a kind boss we could rely on for guidance, support and camaraderie. Melody Mladineo

Although I haven’t seen my Uncle Dave in some years I loved him dearly. He always made an effort to let me know how proud he was of me for difficult things I have gone through, including a long battle WCB and won (not an easy thing to do)
My most memorable thing is from a young girl till now, Uncle Dave was so strong, yet gentle at the same time and of course how much he loved my Aunt Barbra!
I always felt like it guided me to find my wonderful husband with those similar traits♥️
Never forgotten Uncle Dave
Sending love and support to my Auntie and cousins from BC

A few words of tribute to a fellow golfer and all round great guy.
When I was named Senior Coordinator last year, Dave was the first to offer his assistance. He was dedicated to the Westfield Golf & Country Club.
I enjoyed playing golf with Dave. He would always congratulate you on a great shot or a good game but he never bragged about his own play, even though he played the game better than most of us.
Dave reminded me of Dustin Johnson, my favourite golfer, in terms of temperament. He was even-keeled, never too high or never too low and that is what I liked about him.
Despite having a lot of talent, Dave was unassuming to the point of being modest. Everyone who golfed with him marvelled about his smooth, easy swing and controlled draw.
Although Dave will be missed, we will always cherish these wonderful memories of him.

Wendy and I are so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing, and our condolences go out to Barb and all the family.. Such a great guy; my buddy and best friend growing up in Regina in the 60’s. There are so many memories of our high school years; parties at Regina Beach, trying to figure out how to get a case of beer for the weekend, flag football games in the park, discussions on girls and how to get a good one ( which we both did for a life time partner), pool games with our friends at the local billiard hall, talks with Dave’s mom and dad about our future careers, etc.. Dave’s mom and mine were friends years before we arrived, and we were born only weeks apart in 1946. I will always cherish my memories of those days. Rest in peach my friend.

We were filled with sadness at news of Dave's passing ... a good man with a kind heart and a quick wit.
Dave was calmly observant, always ready to enjoy a little laughter at the absurdities of life. He brought subtle insights (generously laced with humour) to the conversation, be it Winston Churchill, new technology or life in general. Dave was a unique and wonderful man who could not be replaced. We shared many enjoyable dinners and visits over the years with Barb and Dave, but an outing that is vivid in our memory, is Dave flying his colourful kites under a clear blue New Brunswick sky.
Barb, we are sending you our love. David and Brent, we thought the world of your dad. He was a very special person. Our deepest sympathy at this sad time.
