Obituary of Mary Kathleen Seely-Miller

Surrounded by her family Mary Kathleen Seely-Miller (nee Logan) passed peacefully on October 5, 2022 at Rocmaura Nursing Home, Saint John NB.   Mary was born in Saint John on Christmas Day 1932 to Kathleen Shannon and John Logan.  She had three younger siblings (Nora, Connie and Gregory) who predeceased her.

She met her first husband Ralph Seely (predeceased 1995) while growing up on Hilyard Street.  They married in 1952 and raised a family of seven children together: Ralph (Catherine) of Rothesay, Norman (Barb) of Rothesay, Gregory (predeceased) (Susan) of Bayswater, Gary (Janice) of Bayswater, Glenn (Vicki) of Bayswater, Brian (Beth) of Summerville and Kathleen Miller (John) of Bayswater. Later in life she met her second husband, Ron Miller (predeceased 2019) and is survived by her step-children, Gary Miller of Kingston, Brian Miller of Saint John and Brenda James of Saint John. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren, with one great-great grandchild, Tatiana, predeceased.

Mary always worked hard, both at home and at work.  She held a variety of jobs throughout her life at Red Rose Tea, Bricklin, Eastern Bakeries, Nielsen’s and the Red Cross.  She was an excellent bowler and later in life loved to square dance with the Beaus & Belles.  She enjoyed many years of square dancing, with both her first husband, Ralph, and her second husband, Ron.  Mary enjoyed her trips to Florida but her lifetime dream trip was to go to Ireland which she did in 2008 accompanied by her son, Brian, and daughter, Kathleen.  She was a woman who truly loved her family and would offer her support in any way she could. You could count on her to be there whenever needed, generous with both her time and energy.

When Rocmaura Nursing Home became her home 10 years ago she was blessed to be cared for by such a loving staff.  Our thanks go out to everyone at Rocmaura for the love and care you provided.
