Obituary of Bessie Lorinda Sheils
It is with sadness but with appreciation for a life well-lived that the family of Bessie Lorinda Sheils, wife of the late James Sheils, announce her peaceful passing on October 19, 2022, at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born on August 12, 1929, in Rexton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Marjorie (McEachern) and Percy Wilson.
Bessie was a born again Christian and attended services at the Nursing Home church where she loved worship time and singing hymns. She loved visits with her family, especially spending time with her great-nieces and nephews. She loved telling jokes and making people laugh. Her favourite activity was playing bingo! She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Bessie is survived by her son, David; brother, Chester; brother-in-law, James; as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Bessie was also predeceased by sisters, Irene, Olive, Hilda and Nelda; brothers, Cecil, Thomas and Ralph; sister-in-law, Jacqueline.
Bessie’s family would like to thank the staff of St. John and St. Stephen’s Nursing Home for all the care and compassion shown to Bessie over the last several years. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). At Bessie’s request, there will be no visitation or service. For those who wish, donations in Bessie’s memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
