David obtained a BBA from the University of New Brunswick in 1972 and then earned his Chartered Accountant designation in 1974 as a member of the New Brunswick Institute of Chartered Accountants. David married the love of his life Linda Joyce Casey (Peters) on March 27, 1971.

He is predeceased by his parents, Linda’s parents Jarvis and Margaret Peters, his brother Doug and his nephew Chad.
David was a passionate golfer and longtime member at the Westfield Golf and Country Club where he was on the board of directors and served as President, Vice President and Treasurer. Devoted to his profession, David established his accounting practice in 1982 and was joined shortly thereafter by his longtime business partner Frank Ashe. He served as Finance Commissioner for the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield for 38 years and has been instrumental in the operation of the Saint John Jeux Canada Games foundation since it was established in 1984.
