Larry was a very fine man, knew Larry from our PES days...great times on the soccer field...we were also roommates on a class trip to Ottawa ( oh the times we had on that trip). My family lived beside the Oliver's for a short time on Park St Ext, we had many a ball game down at the school field...May you RIP Larry you were a great person and will be sadly missed.

To Larry’s family, and friends…..oh my, what a sad day it was to hear of Larry’s passing. He was a brother to me, was in our home everyday, belonged there with us as family. So many good times with Larry, always made me laugh, never a dull moment with him!! He was one of the first to visit me in Halifax, just as a good friend would do. I wish nothing but peace for him now. I’m sure he will be missed very much by his family, but he will be greatly missed by Carl, Stanley and I as well, rest in peace Larry, the park street gang will never forget you.

I’m so saddened to hear of Larry’s passing. I’ve known Larry for as long as I have memories. Growing up together, just across the street, we were blessed with life long friendship and being the “Park Street Gang” when we were young and full of mischief holds so much laughter…from summer days walking to Lily Lake or the Arches to swim, towels thrown over our shoulders, winters sliding at PES hill, skating and Larry always had the best laugh, loved sharing a joke. I don’t recall ever a harsh word between us.
In life Larry was my first kiss, I think we were in grade 2 for me, grade 3 for him…we were very formal as we’d planned to satisfy our curiosity about all the big deal, meeting on Coursers back steps as we knew they were away. I had just brushed my teeth, and Larry had rushed after having a hot dog for supper, it didn’t go very well as I don’t like mustard. It was definitely memorable.
I alway picture him as a teen, in his favourite T-shirt with Farrah Fawcett in the red swim suit poster as a teen, biggest grin on his face, eyes flashing as we’d stand around making plans…Larry couldn’t wait, he’d always be shifting his weight from one foot to the other, antsy to get on with it. Life was to be lived for Larry, as he was naturally good natured.
Rest In Peace my sweet friend. My most sincere condolences to Joan, Wayne, Heather, & Brian and their families.

I would like to send my sincere condolences to all of the Oliver family
I was really shocked to hear that Larry (Twister)has passed away
I have known Larry my whole life he use to live 4 houses up from us on Park St Ext when we were just kids and he was just like part of the family just like another older brother
Larry when younger was a Ladys man
He was always good at any sport when he was in School and also had the highest mark in his class at Welding very handy man if something needed to be fixed he could do it
Anytime my Dad had to go somewhere he would give Larry the car keys and say come on Twister lets go and he was there for him
I have alot of great memories of Larry lot of laughs and good times
Unfortunately as we grew older we really didn’t see much of each other but anytime we did see each other it was great to see him and we would talk and have some more laughs
RIP Bro until I see you again one day

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the Oliver family in the passing of Larry. I was shocked to have learned of his sudden passing. We worked together at Kate Lynne Courier for the past 9 years or more. Larry was a hard worker and took pride in doing his job well. He was well liked by his fellow co workers and customers. Larry was a private man but would never hesitate to share childhood memories with you on the drive home from work. He spoke highly of his family, and was very proud of the Oliver name.We are going to miss you Larry. I am certainly glad to have had the opportunity to have worked with you. Rest now my friend!
