Hi Gerry, I had noticed Judi had not been on FB lately. You might remember we met on the Rocky Mountaineer, many years ago. Such a brief encounter which would lead to Judi keeping in contact with us in Melbourne Australia. She was just such a terrific correspondent, as we absolutely loved her photos of the cottage and Murphy. She was a vibrant and interesting person. Cheers from Oz. I always looked forward to appointments with Judi and her beloved horse Murphy. Judi had such great perspective, wit and intelligence. Our discussions included horses, family, work, travel and friends. I always left a visit with Judi feeling appreciated, valued and understood. She was an immediate friend. Murphy will be well cared for through this network of wonderful horse people; we will treat him as our own. A great loss for so many.

I was saddened to hear of Judi's passing. She was one of my favourite "bosses" of all time. She was more like a coach. She could put aside her position, her authority and talk one on one like no other whether it was work related or personal. She had so much wisdom, practical solutions to problems, a sense of humor and was a great senior colleague. She was a very unique person. My condolences to you and your family.

Dear Dr Stiles; On behalf of Maggie and I , we wish to send our deepest and most profound condolences of learning of Judi's passing..As you not doubt are aware and have heard from so many Judi's work ethic was sensational and on a personal note her devotion to children through both her work and THE DR. DAVID STEPHEN MEMORIAL FOUNDATION was literally un-shakenable. She was passionate, an eager warrior on behalf of children, and , simply one of the nicest colleagues I've had the honor /privlidge to work with. Sending Condolences to Gerry on the passing of his partner and wife. Fond memory of one fishing trip on the Restigouche where after the fishing party had finished its meal and dessert of blueberry pie, the cook had one extra piece of that pie left. Gerry, you had your eye on that....but Judi put the kibosh on you having a second piece. Seemed funny at the time.. You made a great couple.

My deepest condolences Jerry. I met Judi a few short years ago at the barn. I remember the first time I talked to her, my first thought was this lady is far too proper for me to converse with. But I soon found out otherwise. She always greeted me with a smile and I know she thought i just a bit too crazy when I would ride Murphy to and from the paddock dare back, until the day he bucked me off. Judi will be fondly remembered. I got to know her through her longstanding friendship with my wife , Sheila. They shared a passion for horses. Judi had an great sense of humor, and her emails were usually very funny. She should have published books of comedy. A great friend and advisor. Through that friendship, I got to know her husband, Jerry, on a more personal level. I had previously known him professionally as a widely respected vascular surgeon.
