Will never forget Joe .... he taught me how to manage the "liquor tanks" (liquid sugar) at the Sugar Refinery back in the late 60's. And we did some cycling together too. We need more men like him .. sorry to read that he died.

Dear Kevin and extended family of "Joe" Patterson;
On behalf of the executive and membership of Saint John Vocational School Alumni Association, I wish to extend heartfelt sympathy and condolences in the loss of your dear father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you traverse this most difficult path on the road of life. Over the years he gave many volunteer hours toward "VOC" alumni endeavors which were always appreciated.
I also wish to extend condolences on my own behalf to Kevin. I have known Joe for many years through Alumni and I met Kevin when I volunteered at the Salvation Army "Hope Café" previous to 2018 when I moved from Norton to Sussex and had to leave my Saint John volunteering positions.
Having to say "Good Bye" or "until later" to one's parent, grandparent or sibling is not an easy thing, so may you each treasure the many memories you have shared together with him, and I'm sure there are many, and hold them close to your hearts. Blessings.
Sincerely;
Louise Craine (Hm Ec '62)

I was saddened to hear of Joe’s passing. I met Joe through my husband, Blake, at the Y’s Men’s meetings and volunteer events. He was a charming man whose kindness and respect for his fellow man, regardless of their circumstances, radiated from him. I loved watching him interact with the patrons at the Salvation Army dinners on Saturday Nights. Joe was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed.
