Billie was one of the most unique characters I have ever known. She loved to travel and never missed an opportunity to do so. I know of no other woman who would undertake to travel solo from coast to coast ( and lots of places in between) in an old car. On her travels she visited Moose Factory Island where she was born and Churchill, Manitoba where she and her family spent many years. She drove through Quebec to Labrador where she spent a few days with her brother, Murray, who was working there. She visited the rest of us along the way and eventually arrived home after several weeks on the road. This was only one journey, of course. She and Mary travelled extensively in Asia, moving from place to place by public transportation, visiting places of interest, eating local food and getting to know the culture. Another favourite venue was the Caribbean. Always looking forward to the next adventure.
You left on this last journey much too quickly, Billie. Never even got to say goodbye. You will be missed.
